2. The Right to Choose Freely

The right to free choice among product offers the consumers with a variety of options provided by different companies from which to choose. The federal government has ensured the availability of a healthy environment open to competition. The government protects this right by:

  • Discouraging monopolies,

  • Examining the effects of a merger on the consumer, and

  • Prohibiting activities by manufacturers that are meant to reduce the consumer's choices.
